Halloween Event 2023

Double double toil and trouble, something wicked this way comes! Spooky season is upon us, and you know what that means, Forge fans! Its time to light your lanterns and summon some courage: our creepiest event is back in town for Halloween!

"This Halloween, a mysterious witch dares you to a card duel that transcends worlds. Beware! Vampires, Werewolves, Zombies, and even the witch herself come to life, not in flesh but as formidable cards, ready for a chilling battle..."

Halloween Questline

In this year's Halloween Event, your quest giver will be a mysterious witch who dares you to a card duel! She will lead you through eerie dungeons and ghoulish puns.

This Halloween's questline will provide you with 35 rush quests, and then 21 additional quests, with one appearing each day.

How does the Halloween Event 2023 work?

A terrifying event with a new mechanism makes its appearance in Forge of Empires. To kick off this eerie event, you'll need to amass Teethfrom quests and incidents that pop up in your city.

Event window Overview

Within the event window, you will find several main elements to consider:

1. Theeth	The amount of teeth you have at the moment
2. Grand Prizes	Shows the amount of Advance needed to progress toward the next Reward.
3. Daily special	Shows the Daily Special, which can be exchanged 1x per 24h.
4. League	Tells you which leaque you are in at the moment.
5. Progress	Shows you your progress that you have at the moment and how much is needed for the next Grand Prize.
6. Chests	These are the chests that you can open by using keys.
7. Keys	Next to the chests is the amount of keys you have at the moment
8. Enter Dungeon	Here you can enter a dungeon by clicking and start a new minigame.
9. Dungeon deck	Here you select your deck to enter a dungeon.

Strategic Choices

If you open the event window on the top left corner of your screen, you will get into the creepy dungeons, where you can start this thrilling event.

When you open the event window to begin a new dungeon you must select your deck. Choose the best deck for your Dungeon to get a strategic advantage!

Selecting your deck

You can choose from preset decks, with each card representing either Vampires, Werewolves, Zombies. Each deck will also contain some cards of the other factions, as well as Witch Cards. Once you have picked a deck there is a cooldown period before you can pick that deck again, but you can always bypass this by paying some Event Currency

Your card has a range of damage it can do, plus each card has a bonus against a certain type of creature (except Witch cards!).

Bonus attack against

Werewolves	Taste bad to Vampires! (Bonus attack against Vampires)
Zombies	Are resistant to Werewolf claws! (Bonus attack against Werewolves)
Vampires	Are immune to becoming Zombies! (Bonus attack against Zombies)
Witches	They play by their own rules! (No faction bonus. Also no other faction has a bonus against witches)

The Dungeon

When you've gathered all your courage, click Enter to start an exciting new Dungeon.

There you will face 10 opponent cards, followed by a fearsome Boss Card. Defeat them all to win the Dungeon. During these battles you will have to defeat the opponent's cards to win and collect bronze , silver and golden keys .

If you defeat them all you will win the Dungeon. Beware: should your health fall to 0 you will fail and have to start again! But fear not - all is not lost should your health fade in combat! You can boost your health with health potions , which can be purchased in the Health Potions Shop.

Battle Mechanics

Your card has a range of damage it can do, plus each card has a bonus against a certain type (except Witch cards!). When you click 'Fight', you will deal damage to your enemy's health bar equivalent to the damage range of your selected card, plus any bonuses. For example, if your card does 4 to 6 damage, clicking 'Fight' will randomly select a value between 4 and 6, and deduct it from the enemy's health - plus any damage bonus from your card type! But the enemy will do the same, so check you have more health left than the maximum possible damage your enemy can inflict, or you could end up defeated!

Tip: Not sure you have enough health to survive the battle? Top up with a potion or use an Ability Card!

Battle	Click the 'Fight' button to initiate combat. Check the card stats to see how much damage you can deal to your opponent, and how much they can do to you! Assessing your health wisely is crucial. You can redraw or purchase health points to enhance your success chances.
Redraw	If your card is weak against your opponent, you can choose to redraw. You'll be presented with three random options from your deck to pick from - click the arrows to view your choices! You can redraw repeatedly, but each time costs more Event Currency Note: If you have Ability Cards in your deck, one of the three options will be an Ability Card, with the other two being regular cards.
Health Potions	Low on health? Buy a potion using Event Currency. But beware, there's an upper health limit.
Rewards	Each defeated enemy drops a key: bronze, silver or gold . These keys unlock chests on the main screen, advancing you towards the Grand Prize and potentially earning Daily rewards.
Ability Cards	These bonus cards provide unique and powerful boosts. Some enemies in the dungeon will have a card icon below in place of the usual chest - defeating these enemies rewards you with the Ability Card Shop Window. One card is free, but you can buy up to two more using Event Currency. The enemy cannot attack when you use Ability Cards. Unused ability cards following triumph over the boss will be transformed into golden keys

Tip: Your first chest of the day will be automatically doubled, so be sure to open at least one chest every day!

Tip: You'll defeat this enemy in one hit! But beware - they have a bonus against your card type, so you will take extra damage doing it! Will you risk it or gamble on redrawing a better card? Even different cards of the same type (e.g. two Werewolf type cards) may have different stats so pay close attention when picking your cards!

Dungeon Chest

Receive Bronze , Siver or Golden keys when you have defeated an opponent. In addition, you will receive a random prize from the Dungeon Chest when you have defeated the opponent's card. This Chest contains, among other amazing things: The Stormspire and its various upgrade rewards

Keep a keen eye for the Daily specials. To win the Daily Specials, you need to open Reward Chests on the right side on the Event window. Every Chest has a different chance to win the Daily Special. Please click on the Chest you want to open to see the details about its rewards.

The Gruesome Grand Prize this year is the Laboratory of Monstrosities! With 8 regular levels this horribly good building has the following stats (please click on the building):

	A Level 1 Laboratory of Monstrosities can be found as one of the first rewards of the questline and can then be upgraded using the Laboratory of Monstrosities Upgrade Kit which can be obtained in the Halloween Event 2023 quest line and as part of the Grand Prize.

We also have the Silver and Golden Upgrade Kit in this Halloween Event. Use the Silver Upgrade Kit to upgrade your Laboratory of Monstrosities Level 8 to the Sinister Laboratory of Monstrosities. Afterwards you can use the Golden Upgrade Kit to get the Thundering Laboratory of Monstrosities!

You can gain a Silver Upgrade Kit from the Boss at the 11th encounter and the Silver and Gold Upgrade Kits from the Silver and Gold Event Passes! You can also gain a Silver upgrade from placing in the Silver League, and a Gold Upgrade Kit from placing in the Golden League.
