Winter Event 2017

Around December it can get quite cold, maybe it'll even start snowing... But soon you feel that warm and familiar holiday feeling, and you know it's time for the Winter Event in Forge of Empires.

Complete quests to earn Stars, and then do everyone's favorite holiday thing - open some gifts! There's a whole board with presents waiting for you, and as you select and unwrap gifts you get to collect all sorts of rewards for your city. From medals to Diamonds, there are so many prizes to be found. Can you find them all?

Details of Winter Event

How does the event work?

You have to spend Stars to open presents on a board. Before you can select presents you have to hit 'Start', to shuffle the prizes.

The board resets every day with 18 new rewards. The rewards are hidden in decorative boxes when you start the shuffle process.

There is also a Daily Special reward, offered only on that day, though you can purchase it the following day with diamonds.

Among the 18 daily rewards there are also three special reward tiles - Shuffle, Double Payout, and Show 2:

Shuffle	Shuffle will of course shuffle the board for you, and it will also give you 10 Stars.
Double Payout	Double Payout will double the reward from the next present you open. If you do not open any presents during that day, then the double payout will transfer to the next day when you open a present.
Show 2	Show 2 will reveal to you the contents of two presents on the board, and it will also give you a small amount of Stars.

Can I do anything else?

You will also win Stars by completing quests in a special Winter Event questline. By completing some quests, you will also recieve new special buildings. In 2017, you can win a whole new Winter Village consisting of 9 buildings: Madame Fortuna's Tent, Straw Star Tent, Halmbock, Smörgåsbord Feast, Tinkerer's Tent, Candlemaker's Tent, Sugar Baker's Booth, Moose Meadow, Toymaker's Booth.

The Confectionary could be upgraded by completing the questline each year to a Large Confectionary, Huge Confectionary, or even a Legendary Confectionary! When you completed the questline you either won a Confectionary if you did not have one, you was asked by a questgiver to sell your old building for a brand new one, or you received a Store Building item if you already owned the Legendary Confectionary.

There are many Winter-themed buildings which you can win - Snow Globe, Festive Tree, Winter Pyramid, Reindeer Sleigh, Winter Gate, Gingerbread House, Winter Market, Nutcracker, and more! You could easily build yourself a winter-themed village with them.

There is also snow in your city during the duration of the event! To see it, make sure you have 'Smoke and Cloud' animations turned on in the game settings ('Weather effects' on the mobile apps). Then simply complete Winter Event quests or open presents!
